What is the Guardians Guide to the Galaxy?
Guardians Guide is a brand new show to the StargateChannel that will cover geeky news but primarily attempt to introduce people to the world of comics from a beginners perspective aided by the help of a reader experienced in the Graphic Novel format.

Each episode of The Guardians Guide to the Galaxy will feature a specific topic that two hosts (TheiKing/Goust) will review individually critiquing everything they liked and disliked about the topic based on a set of categories and then discuss their opinions together in a podcast type style. By the end of the episode we will either recommend if you should check it out for yourself or stay away from it.

The episode topics can be pretty much anything. Some of the things we currently have planned for upcoming episodes include comic books, novels, TV shows (not just comic book based), movies, seriously geeky collectables & coffee table books. Even random things like my really amazing new desk chair (it feels like I am sitting in a starship's captain chair!) One week we may talk about The Flash or Harry Potter and the next we may talk about Craig Ferguson or Community. There are so many fandoms and sources of literature to discuss, and we want to share it with you.

MORE INFO WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN OUR INTRODUCTION EPISODE!

Actually it's not just things that Ethan and I like. In fact, in the first real episode, we had to read three books in the flash comic series and I gave scathing reviews to two of them. The Cargo Bay and Geek Pulse segments will be where we show things that we like but for the most part the Shiny Reviews will remain objective. In fact there will be times when we review things that we had no prior knowledge of before watching/reading them.
You get used to it lol.

Can't wait! Quick question, will you be putting up an iTunes podcast for this (audio only)? I'd love to listen to it whilest doing other stuff! (Yes, iKing. I DO have a life outside of you and your forums, as hard as it might be to believe)

Huh. * watches video* Huh. * reads thread again* Huh.

I'll keep myself updated about this. It's been a long time since I read any comics at all, and I think this would be a nice thing to listen to on Sundays. No idea why on a Sunday in particular, I mean Thursday is just as good as Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday - wait..... >.>

Also, you SOUND like the average Joe shmoe who would pick up a good comic. Minus the Joe Shmoe. Who has a last name named Shmoe?

So... Wooooooo!!!! Geek videos!!! So the drunk giraffe!

So I'm guessing you decided that you were going to need something to do after the load on the DWCM eventually lightened?

I don't know why but I feel like that was a mean thing to say somehow...

I'm looking foward to this! It's a looks like a pretty nice idea and a good contrast to the DWCM content you guys have been putting out (Thanks a lot by the way!). Plus geeky stuff is right in my area, I am geek and I like to geek.

Huh.... I should try Irish Coffee!
Well, I think of it as something fun to do, and a way to let off a little bit of steam. I mean, anyone would go bonkers doing the same thing for three years.

Though what you said makes sense, too. Just saying.

Not that that doesn't sound awesome, but don't you think it would be wise to focus on just one [REDACT]ing massive, incredibly involved, coding- and rendering-requiring project at a time?

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh no. I'm not a programmer. The extent of what I do on DWCM these days is playtesting and throwing new models at emir to add lol.

Apart from college, I have all the time in the world to do Guardians Guide without it effecting my work on DWCM at all. I refuse to be confined to working on the same thing day after day, and after 3 years of endless DWCM I need something that is not related to Doctor Who, but more importantly in no way about Minecraft.

I have been putting aside doing something like this for years and I've finally realized that I am owed a little enjoyment and allowed to express my interests.
